The Republic of Tatarstan is located in the heart of Russia, at the confluence of the two largest rivers of Eastern Europe - the Volga and the Kama. The capital of the Republic is Kazan, which is rightly called the "third" capital of the Russian Federation.

Tatarstan is a land of 4 rivers, a huge number of forests, wide meadows, steppes and lakes. The nature of the region is rich and diverse. Temperate continental climate guarantees warm summer and not very aggressive winter. Atlantic air masses make the weather softer, and the air masses from the North (Siberia, Arctic) on the contrary are cool. The peculiarity of the nature of Tatarstan is the diversity of climatic resources in different areas.
THE ISLAND-TOWN OF SVIYAZHSK
Ancient County town, located at the intersection of three rivers, the Volga, Sviyaga and Shchuka. Sviyazhsk was founded by Ivan the Terrible in the 16th century as a powerful fortress and from here he began his military campaign to Kazan. The island-town of Sviyazhsk is included in the UNESCO list of cultural and natural heritage. On the island there are stunning monuments, original frescoes of the 16th century, cathedrals and churches, one of the most famous churches, is a wooden Church of the Holy Trinity, built in the 16th century without a single nail.
GREAT BULGAR
On the coast of the Royal Volga, among the beautiful nature, comfortably located one of the many national historical reserves – ancient Bulgarians. In the past, being the center of trade and culture, for many centuries of its existence, the city managed to preserve its ancient grandeur, immortalized in unshakable mausoleums, mosques, chambers and tombs. On its territory there is a functioning Museum of local Lore, which introduces in detail the archaic civilization of ancestors. Today, the hillfort of Bulgar is a protected complex fenced by moats, in which time stops its inexorable run, providing an opportunity to see, feel and touch eternity.
RAIFA BLESSED VIRGIN MEN'S MONASTERY
Raifa Monastery has a long history. It owes its name to the monastery of the same name on the Sinai peninsula, founded on the site of the camp of Jews at the exit with Moses from Egypt to Israel. Kazan Raif Monastery is located on the shore of the lake, surrounded by ancient pines. It is also unique in architectural terms. Raifa is one of those rare monasteries that have been restored almost completely. The main Shrine of the monastery the icon of the Virgin of Georgia — and to this day is famous as miraculous and gives healing to the weak: the blind returns sight, the raging comes purification, and the lame receive correction.
ELABUGA CITY
Elabuga is the second most important city after Kazan in the Republic of Tatarstan, which has a unique historical and cultural heritage. The picturesque natural environment of the city and the advantageous location at the confluence of two rivers: the Toyma and the Kama, made it attractive in terms of development of the territory. Without significant changes, the central part of the city remained, typical of the end of the XVIII-XX centuries stone building, preserving the urban, socio-economic, historical and cultural environment, with characteristic for this region architectural monuments. The inner urban environment of the historical part of the city is characterized by a rare integrity. In the historical core there are still no modern buildings, there is a cosiness of antiquity, respect for it, an element that captivates visitors, home hospitality.
